The idea stems from new flight regulations forbidding essential grooming items such as razors and tweezers from hand luggage. For the executive traveller on business to Edinburgh, this means having to check-in their luggage, therefore incurring delays at check-in and luggage reclaim.
But delays can be avoided, and executives can still put their best face forward thanks to The Howard's new dedicated team of butlers. The team can arrange for all guest arrivals to have such essential grooming items ready in their room prior to arrival - from a toothbrush and toothpaste to razors, shaving foam and deodorant.
The service will not only cut down on executive travel time, but has also been designed to take some of the stress out of pre-business travel planning. Luggage can be unpacked and shoes polished for the guest while they freshen up in their room or relax downstairs in the Drawing Room. Clothes can be pressed within an hour of arrival to minimize the need to bring a second suit. The service also covers for emergencies such as missing cufflinks, lost socks and tights, and missing buttons which can be sown back on. But that is not all!
The business traveller can email documents and presentations to their butler in advance of their arrival, which can be downloaded and set up on one The Howard's laptops provided. Mobile phones can be recharged or provided; restaurant reservations and meeting venues can be booked in advance; car pick up to and from the meeting venues and airport transfers can be arranged in minutes. Every little detail can be taken care of, from refreshments in the room on arrival, to the purchase of a hand selected gift to take home to the family. All travellers need think about is the content of the business meeting itself.
New wardrobe, tailoring and grooming service for guests...
This latest addition to the service has been developed in order to make solo business travel more pleasurable as well as practical, bearing in mind Edinburgh's fine selection of tailors and shoe-makers, and adds to an extensive list of personalized services already available to guests at The Howard at no additional charge.
The new service means that guests can have their suits cleaned, shirts laundered and shoes polished and mended during their stay. Guests travelling on business may also want to benefit from some of Edinburgh top class tailoring outlets and shoe-makers. Private consultations and measuring can be arranged out of hours, and a tailor-made suit or hand-made pair of shoes will be ready within the week.
