The Atholl started life as a private dining room for guests staying at the hotel. Its elegant, flower-filled Georgian setting, intimate atmosphere, fine wine list and expertly prepared modern Scottish menu drew an enthusiastic and knowledgeable local clientele as well, so the Atholl has gradually evolved into a much sought-after restaurant in Edinburgh. The Atholl only seats 14 people at a time, so be sure to reserve in advance.
As an alternative, if you are staying at The Howard, you can order from the 24-hour room service menu, or from the lunch or dinner menus during service times. Lunch and dinner can be served by private butler, in the comfort of your own room or suite.
