While for many a five star hotel is all about absolute luxury, abundance and indulgence, here at The Howard we are very much conscious of the impact we have on our environment. In our current (changing) climate we feel it is our duty to do all we can to limit this impact through the implementation of measures throughout the hotel including:
- The recycling or re-use of as much of our glass, paper and cardboard, printer cartidges, light bulbs, plastic bottles and aluminium cans as possible.
- Reducing our energy consumption through the use of energy saving lightbulbs, the switching off of unnecessary lights and electrical equipment, the maintenance of loft insulation and draft excluders.
- Encouraging biodiversity in our small wildlife garden, through bird boxes, feeders and insect logs.
If you have any questions or suggestions regarding our environmental policy then please do not hesitate to contact Ross Hubert, our environmental Co-ordinator.
We are currently members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme, with whom we have achieved a Gold grading.
