Sales And Marketing Executive Edinburgh

The Edinburgh Collection is recruiting the new position of Sales and Marketing Executive for our independent hotel group, based in central Edinburgh. The role requires a candidate of enthusiasm and experience who will ably support the Sales Manager in driving sales, who will pro-actively market the hotels using various traditional and online methods, and who will ensure all client databases are efficiently managed and updated.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following on a day-to-day basis:

 *   Researching and contracting new business across all four hotels in our group.

 *   Collating and maintaining client contact database

 *   Managing company Social Media activity such as Facebook, Twitter,

 *   Manage and maintain company e-marketing activity such as e-newsletters, email blasts and via Social Media

 *   Manage Guest feedback via online channels

 *   Designing Advertisements and Promotions

 *   Updating websites

 *   Writing editorial features

 *   Managing relationships with direct corporate and leisure bookers.

 *   Analysing statistics and generating reports.

 *   Working closely with existing and potential clients to secure all available business opportunities and secure strong working relationships

 *   Proactively identify target accounts using market data and industry intelligence, and creating and making appointments

 *   Assist the Sales Manager in account development of corporate clients for each property

 *   Assist hotels in responding to conference, event and wedding enquiries in a timely manner, manage and liaise with hotel operational team to ensure all details are communicated accurately.

 *   Provide timely and accurate feedback to senior management regarding performance on a weekly basis.

 *   To assist and help co-ordinate corporate sales events within the hotels

The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, able to work unsupervised to reach set targets, have solid organisation skills to prioritise workload and excellent communication skills through email, telephone and in person. Experience within the hospitality sector advantageous but not essential. Experience with Social Media management and database management is essential, as is experience with aspects of online marketing and design. Key IT Skills required include Microsoft Word and Excel, Powerpoint and Mailchimp or equivalent.

This position is full time, five days out of seven, 40+ hours per week, may involve weekends and evenings. Salary dependent on experience.

And as part of our dedication to Green Tourism, and the environment in general, we take pride in ensuring that each department of the hotel works with an awareness of green issues and how we can all work together to be as ecologically progressive as possible. While for many a five star hotel is all about absolute luxury, abundance and indulgence, here at The Howard we are conscious of the impact we have on our environment. In our current changing climate we feel it is our duty to do all we can to limit this impact through the implementation of measures throughout the hotel including:

The recycling or re-use of as much of our glass, paper and cardboard, food waste, printer cartridges, light bulbs, plastic bottles and aluminum cans as possible.

Reducing our energy consumption through the use of energy saving lightbulbs, the switching off of unnecessary lights and electrical equipment.

Wherever possible we source products from local and sustainable sources in the knowledge that even small changes to the way we operate can make significant differences.

We ask all of our guests to help us make The Howard as environmentally friendly as possible, you can help us in the following ways:

Let us know if you are happy to minimise bed changes, your bedding will be changed on every second day of your stay unless you instruct us otherwise.

We won’t change your towels in the evening unless you ask us to do so during evening turndown service.

Please separate all recyclable materials and place them beside the bin, our housekeeping team will remove and recycle these.

Please switch the lights & television off when you leave your room, it helps to conserve energy!

We encourage the use of walking tours and the city’s cycleways and green spaces as you explore Edinburgh. If you require any information on these services please do not hesitate to ask one of our team. We would be happy to provide directions for walking or taking the bus to any attractions, offices or nearby sites instead of calling a taxi!

The legal entities of each of the businesses may have different ownership structures and have different boards not least because of Joint Venture agreements and funding arrangements but one or more of the Executives are normally involved in each separate legal entity whether through direct/indirect share ownership and/or board representation. The different legal entities are not in partnership with one another nor held out as such and do not have any liability (save under specific contractual arrangements) for one another’s liabilities. None of these legal entities have any power, authority, or capacity to bind any other legal entity listed.

Disabled Access

We have one ground floor bedroom with some disabled equipment – hand rail at the bath, hand rail at the toilet. We also have a step for getting in and out of the bath and a chair for in the shower.

Wheelchair access is available from the car park entrance, there is one small step into the hotel which the butlers can assist with and from there access to all floors is by the lift which can easily accommodate one wheelchair. We unfortunately do not have a disabled public toilet.
